Taylor Swift Gets a Street Named After Her in Toronto: ‘Taylor Swift Way’ Shines Bright
Swifties, it’s time to shake it off and stroll down Taylor Swift Way! Yes, you read that right. The City of Toronto just gave Taylor Swift her very own street. This honorary route connects Nathan Phillips Square to Rogers Centre, celebrating Taylor’s arrival with The Eras Tour in Toronto. Taylor Swift Way will sparkle in the city all through November. Always wanted a street named after Taylor Swift? Keep reading to find out more!
The Walk of Fame for Taylor Swift Way
On November 4th, Toronto unveiled ceremonial street signs for Taylor Swift Way in partnership with Rogers. For November, 22 signs will line Queen Street West, John Street, Front Street, and Blue Jays Way. It’s like a little piece of Taylor’s world in the heart of Toronto. If you’re heading to the shows, snap a photo at the newly named route. It’s the kind of “Never Grow Up” keepsake fans will cherish.
There’s more: at the end of the month, all 22 signs (yes, 22, get it?) go up for auction to raise funds for Daily Bread Food Bank. Rogers will match the funds raised up to $113,000, giving a nod to Taylor’s lucky number, 13. With Taylor, everything has meaning. What’s cooler than a street sign with her name? One that also helps feed the hungry! As Taylor would say, “It’s nice to have a friend.”
Toronto’s Own Fairytale
Deputy Mayor Jennifer McKelvie celebrated the unveiling, saying Swift’s concerts will make Toronto shimmer. The City hopes these honorary signs inspire Swifties to follow Taylor’s example and support communities in need. These signs won’t go “Out of Style”—they’ll become rare keepsakes that benefit a worthy cause.
“Taylor Swift will make the whole place shimmer at the Rogers Centre,” McKelvie said, in true Swiftie spirit. With sold-out shows, street signs, and charitable donations, Toronto’s in for a magical month – and having a street named after Taylor is just one part of the Eras festivities!
Mayor Olivia Chow also joined in: “We hope fans are Enchanted by their walk down Taylor Swift Way and will generously support the auction of these signs. Each one will be a keepsake for Evermore and will help a great cause.” (Nice wordplay, Mayor Chow!)
The Auction for Taylor Swift Way Signs
The auction for Taylor Swift Way signs started today and runs until November 10th. Every Monday in November, five additional signs will go up for auction. Want a piece of Swift history? Act fast! These signs will disappear faster than the scarf in “All Too Well.”
All proceeds support the Daily Bread Food Bank, helping people in need across Toronto. In Taylor’s words, “We’re happy, free, confused, and charitable at the same time.” Check out the Daily Bread Food Bank website for full auction details.
Ray Swift’s Perspective: Toronto, You’ve Got That Red Glow
This is huge, Swifties. Toronto is making history by naming streets after our queen, and we are here for it. If the city wanted us to “Stay Stay Stay,” they found the right way to do it. Before heading to the Eras Tour shows, take a walk down Taylor Swift Way. Imagine it’s your song playing as you stroll. Or picture yourself dancing down your own “Cornelia Street.”
Don’t forget—these signs are up for auction to support an incredible cause. Rogers is matching donations up to $113,000. It’s like they knew Taylor’s lucky number was 13! Let’s make sure the Swiftie community shows up strong. There’s no better time to be a Swiftie, no better city to show our love, and no better cause to support.
Imagine this: many eras from now, you’re holding one of those signs. When your future grandkids ask, “What’s this?” you’ll say, “Well, darling, this was the Taylor Swift Way.”
So, Swifties, Toronto’s rolling out the (blue and white sequined) carpet for us. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this chapter. Snap your selfies, bid on those signs, and, of course, get ready for a magical time at Rogers Centre. Until then, keep your eyes open, your heart full, and remember: we’ll all meet again at the corner of Taylor Swift Way and Dreams Come True Blvd.
Leave your thoughts in the comments, Swifties! Are you eager to walk down Taylor Swift Way? Head back to news for more stories!
